Francoise Jean was born on June 2, 1953 in the village of Les Anglais in southern Haiti. She worked with artist Petion Savain and later Jean Richard Coachy. She only paints children. One of her paintings was purchased to represent "The International year of Children" by the FAO in Germany. Francoise Jean has had exhibits in Haiti, Martinique and Guadeloupe. Her artwork also graces postcards and almanacs from UNICEF.
